Department Overview
The MCA Programmewas started in 2004 under the Self Finance Scheme of the Government of U P. by the CCS University, Meerut in the Department of Mathematics with an aim to provide career oriented computer courses to meet the rapid growth of software development and information technology. The MCA Programme has been approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) in April 2007 and in Department of Computer Application. The curriculum includes areas of core competence in computers that are reasonably stable and provide sufficient number of electives and laboratories to accommodate changes with time and need. The curriculum has been designed to have the following distribution: Information Technology 30%, Mathematics 13 %, Business Management 13%, Laboratories 24%, and Project & Seminar 20%.
The MCA (Master in Computer Application) programme, a three year post graduate degree course is divided into six semesters and is broadly aimed to prepare computer professionals for software industry and academia. The MCA programme emphasizes on giving the students a thorough and sound background in theoretical and design oriented courses, relevant to the latest trends in software development and application of software technology to solve mathematical, networking and commercial problems.
The first year courses are designed for skill development using various techniques and the second year is more focused on core courses providing conceptual framework. The third year aims at specialization and project work with various companies to familiarize them with real work culture and environment.
The teaching is specially designed to integrate inputs from statistics, operations research, digital electronics, artificial intelligence, computer architecture and programming languages.
The MCA programme has three fully furnished modern laboratories (90 computers) with wi-fi internet facility and a well stocked library with more than 200 titles (multiple copies). MCA students are performing excellent. Our students have found placement in Wipro, TCS, IBM and other companies of repute.

Section C: Computers
Computer Basics: Organization of a computer, Central Processing Unit (CPU), input / output devices, computer memory, back-up devices.
Data Representation: Representation of characters, integers, and fractions, binary and hexadecimal representations, Binary Arithmetic: Addition, subtraction, division,Multiplication
Programming in C: Data types, Control Structures, Arrays, functions, pointers
