M.S.W. programme (Master of Social Work) was started at Ch. Charan Singh University Campus, Meerut (U.P.) w.e.f. July 2003 under the auspices of the Department of Sociology as some course contenets are common and some are applied aspects of theories and concepts in sociology. It is a post graduate programme of two years duration divided into four semesters. The programme is based on teaching of courses during four semesters, weekly concurrent field work and a summer training (known as Block Field Work) by placing students with organizations, agencies, industries, N.G.O.s and other institutions where social work for the disabled, the weaker and the needy is undertaken.
At present two special areas are included in studies namely `Human resource Management’ and `Rural Urban Community Development’ |

| Procedure of Admission |
| Admission is based on written test/merit (3/4 weightage) and G.D. & P.I. (1/4 weightage). The entrance test is conducted by the university along with other courses during the admission time (June-July) through an open notification. Those appearing in the test are further called for G.D. and P.I. at the level of the department. G.D. and P.I. are conducted by a committee consisted of an external expert of the subject, a psychologist and H.O.D./Coordinator. Awards of both are added and merit list is prepared considering relevant provisions of reservations. |

| The first batch has passed out in 2005 and the fourth batch has passed out in 2008. The students have got employment in organizations like Vardhaman Group of Industries, Maruti Udyog, N.G.O.’s in Delhi, Manipur, Uttaranchal, U.P. etc. |
